I created a 2D, 3D, 4D and Experimental pieces based on the word ‘Declivity,’ which means decline. The concept I created for the word declivity is the decline of rock ‘n’ roll.
Posters are a famous form of medium that rock fans love to stick on their bedroom walls/doors, so I created a guitar out of quotes from rock bands about their opinion of the decline of rock ‘n’ roll.
Because CD’s are declining, streaming is cheap and thriving, and rock music isn’t a huge genre in the market, record companies aren’t signing that many rock bands, which is affecting the rock community.
This inspired the broken CD guitar sculpture.
As rock music is declining in the market, rock merchandising is declining, which inspired the anti-rock ‘n’ roll t-shirts.
Since DVDs are declining, this inspired the creation of a documentary trailer about the decline of rock ‘n’ roll called Broken Rock Scene, title inspired by the rock band Broken Social Scene.
